Sunday Morning Conversation

The Great Emergence: How Christianity is Changing and Why by Phyllis Tickle August 1st - September 5th (6 Sundays)

Every five hundred years, the church cleans out its attic and has a giant rummage sale. Well, not exactly, but this is a metaphor for the massive transitions the church has undergone over time and continues to go through. According to the pattern Tickle uses this current moment is such a time of massive change. In this book Tickle explores "how we got where we are" and "where we might be heading". This isn't a book about "the emergent church" but rather about the "church emerging" as it always has as culture and society changes.
